Historic Milestone: Consultancy Agreement Signed for the First Phase of the Kuwait National Railway Project

KNRR GCC Component Contract Signed in Presence of Minister Dr. Nourah AlMashan

Kuwait City – The Kuwait National Rail Road (KNRR) project reached a major milestone today with the official signing of the contract for the GCC Component. The signing ceremony was held in the presence of Her Excellency Minister Dr. Nourah AlMashan, Minister of Public Works, alongside senior officials from the Public Authority for Roads and Land Transport (PART) and representatives from the project’s consulting and implementation teams.

The KNRR project represents a critical part of Kuwait’s strategy to enhance national and regional connectivity by integrating with the wider Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Railway Network. Once completed, the project will support the movement of goods and passengers across Kuwait and neighboring countries, strengthening economic ties and promoting sustainable transport development.

The contract signing marks the official launch of the project’s next phases, including detailed design, engineering, and tender preparation, in full alignment with the GCC Common Guidelines to ensure seamless interoperability across the regional network.

The event concluded with a ceremonial signing, underscoring Kuwait’s commitment to infrastructure modernization as part of Kuwait Vision 2035.
